Belgium and Inter Milan centre-forward Romelu Lukaku has wrote a touching message to his family, coach and teammates after claiming the 2019 UEFA player of the season.
Romelu Lukaku has had a marvellous 2019/20 UEFA Europa league campaign. Though Antonio Conte’s side lost in final (3-2) to Sevilla, their course was an inspiring one.
With his attacking partner Lautaro Martinez, they gave nightmares to defenders throughout their combinations. However, former Manchester United striker has been special.
Lukaku scored seven goals in six Europa League appearances with Nerazzurri and provided two assists. A performance that helps him to beat Sevilla forward Ever Banega and Red Devils playmaker Bruno Fernandes to claim the coveted award.
After his coronation, Lukaku Bolingo wrote a long and deep message on social media to all those who helped him in achieving this individual award.
“I want to thank god for putting me in this position. My mom and my brother for the unconditional love and support,” Romelu wrote on Facebook.
“My agent for being more than a friend and setting new targets all the time. Antonio Conte and your staff thank you for believing in me and turning me into the player I am today. I owe you guys a lot.
“Most importantly I want to thank my teammates because you guys are the reason why I am here today standing with this trophy. I hope we can fight harder this year to win something on the collective side because that’s the most important thing.
