Columbia star James Rodriguez has opened up on his arrival at Everton as the Merseyside outfit completed his signing on a deal worth £20 million from La Liga champions Real Madrid.

He is a major signing for the Toffees in this summer transfer window following Napoli‘s Allan arrival. Though he is joining Everton for the first time, James Rodriguez could feel like home as he meets there his former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich coach, Carlo Ancelotti.

He was not in perfect atmosphere with Real Madrid Boss Zinedine Zidane as he featured just fourteen times across all competitions with the Santiago Bernabeu side last season. He scored once while assisting twice with Los Blancos’ shirt.

In landing the 29-year-old midfielder, Carlo Ancelotti intends to improve Everton game in order to achieve positive results next season. And James also has the same ambition with the Goodison Park side.

“I’m a winner… a real winner. I like to win things and I’m convinced we can have a great season,” James Rodriguez told Everton TV.

“I know we have a very talented squad, full of top players, and, I think, with the additions we’re making during this transfer window, it’s going to make us even stronger.

“I realise people have put a lot of effort into trying to sign me.

“I play very much for the rest of the team and work hard for the side.

“I am capable of creating goals and scoring goals.

“I hope to bring a bit more quality and maybe get the side playing more football.

“But, most importantly, I want to win things and I am convinced this club can do that.

Moreover, former AS Monaco player said Ancelotti played a major role in his arrival at Everton. And he is convinced to be incorporated as whole with Toffees as Ancelotti, said James Rodriguez, is a coach who gives confidence to all his players without exception.

“Carlo Ancelotti was very keen to bring me here and has worked hard to bring that about” James said about the 61-year-old.

“It is very good to feel wanted.

“I’m convinced, with Carlo and his technical staff, we can achieve great things.

“With hard work, that’s what we are all aiming for. I’ve got huge faith that is definitely a possibility.
